About Upwey-Belgrave RSL

The Upwey Belgrave RSL is a unique and traditional RSL Sub-branch, at the foot of the Dandenong Ranges, championing the ANZAC spirit of mateship and compassion. The RSL is also an integral part of the Upwey Community, supporting families and individuals in difficult times and assisting in community events. It is a family-friendly club, with no poker machines, lots of outdoor areas, and children are always welcome. All members of the community are welcome, you do not have to have served in the Armed Services to join or to attend.
The RSL is overseen by a volunteer Committee of Management, who are elected by members on an annual basis. Any member is welcome to nominate for the Committee for Management and participation is encouraged.
The RSL also supports local music, with the Eastern Blues Association calling the RSL home every Wednesday night and with local bands playing live and free every Friday night. Special music and social functions are also held throughout the year.
Poppies, the club’s bistro showcases local produce, with an emphasis on ‘paddock to plate’ in the menu. All dishes are prepared and cooked completely in house, by our Head Chef, Grant Leech, ably assisted by his competent team. Allergies and specialty items are easily catered for with an extensive “Gluten Free” menu. The bistro celebrates many commemorative occasions and also caters for private functions.
The “Running Rabbits Military Museum” is the only RSL museum fully accredited by Museums Australia, with artifacts from the Boer War through to Afghanistan & Iraq and the peacekeeping efforts in many parts of the world.
