On January 1st 2024, we set a fun challenge to encourage energy and enthusiasm, we would love for our members to visit fellow RSL Sub Branches as they are out and about in their everyday life. Or make a plan similar the the Silo Trail, plan a road trip for a day, a week, a month...
On January 6th we held a social catch up for our veterans, an opportunity to take a photo and tick off our "home sub-branch" in honor of our veterans.
As our members have visited the Sub Branches, they have sent through the Sub Branch location, photos of the RSL or the local cenotaph or memorial gardens, any comments about the Sub Branch or town visit.
There have been regular updates of this wonderful journey of exploration to our fellow RSL Sub Branches, with many members joining in the challenge.
We have been posting photos on Facebook and updating the list on our website. We have had a great response not only from those visiting the Sub-Branches but also from other members who are loving seeing all the photos and comments.
The concept has even made it to the media. A great good news story of community and coming together.
